For over 20 years, British artist Dan Holdsworth has been blending art, science and nature to produce works which challenge our perceptions and reinvent the notion of landscape.
Presented at a monumental scale in the pure RGB colours of all digital screens, Spatial Objects presents a series of sculptural works each of a single data point that marks a GPS co-ordinate from the dramatic volcanic landscape of America’s deepest lake, Crater Lake in the western US. The works make the virtual space of the digital realm seem startlingly real. Going beyond the limits of representation, what you see in these works are the edges and fragments of the pixel resolved within the geometry of the interface itself, transformed into pure colour and light.
